JEEP STRIKES AND INJURES MISSOURI FIREFIGHTER
The snowfall made it slick and dangerous for drivers and emergency personal working crashes across the Ozarks. Early Saturday night, a Tri-County firefighter was hospitalized after he was struck by a Jeep. The accident happened on the eastbound passing lane on I-44 and the 142 mile marker. According to the Highway Patrol, while emergency crews were cleaning up an accident, a man from St. Louis who was driving a Jeep swerved into a closed lane and hit the firefighter.
Officers say the Jeep then slammed into a guard rail. The driver was arrested and charges are pending. The fireman is in a hospital in Springfield with moderate injuries.
