PROVIDENCE POLICE OFFICIER STRUCK BY CAR

New details now on a Providence police officer hit by a car. Sgt. David Edes is recovering at Rhode Island Hospital with a broken arm and a serious shoulder injury. A car hit him early Sunday morning in front of the Roxy nightclub in downtown Providence. Edes was working off-duty at the club as a uniformed officer working security when it happened. The driver was cited with two traffic offenses.
