OHIO TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO SHOTS FIRED, DEPUTY STRUCK

A routine traffic stop by a Montgomery County sheriff's Deputy on Sunday afternoon ended with the deputy firing shots at a van, investigators said.

Authorities said once the deputy had the van stopped on Riverside Drive, the driver of the van got out and ran. They said he circled around the van, got back in and then struck the deputy with the vehicle.

Investigators said the deputy then fired shots at the van. No one was injured during the gunfire. K-9 dogs were brought in to help search for the driver of the van. He was found at the Fountain Head apartment complex on North Main Street in Harrison Twp. Deputies said two men in the van were arrested, but were later released. Theys said another man was taken into custody.
