OHIO OFFICER WALKS AWAY AFTER CAR ROLLS OVER HIM
On Thanksgiving Day, a Blue Ash police officer has a lot more to be thankful for than he did Wednesday. Officials said Officer Scott Noel pulled over just before midnight to assist two people whose minivan had run off Interstate 71 near the Cornell Road overpass in Montgomery.
As Noel was standing next to the wrecked minivan, a car ran off the Interstate, rolled over several times and hit Noel and the minivan. Noel was dragged several feet and pinned to the ground by the crash, but was able to pull himself out because the ground was soft from Wednesday's rain.
"There was a lot of mud. The vehicle that ran over the top of him, he actually had to crawl out from underneath there. But as you can see from the position of the cars, he actually had room to crawl out from underneath there. And he received very, very minor injuries in relation to how the cars came to a final rest," Sgt. Paul Hartinger said.
Noel was transported to Bethesda North Hospital for treatment of a burn on his shoulder and minor head injuries before being released and going home.
The drivers of the two vehicles were treated for minor injuries.
