NEWARK, NEW JERSEY OFFICER STRUCK DURING CAR-JACKING

A Newark police officer was struck by a car during a carjacking this afternoon. The officer was hit at the intersection of Orange and Nesbitt streets just after 1:45 p.m. He was struck by a carjacking suspect fleeing the scene. The severity of the injuries were not immediately known.
