INJURED U.K. CONSTABLE BACK AT WORK
Det Con Corbett is still "very weak", the force said A detective who was seriously injured when she was hit by a car while trying to arrest a man has been moved to a hospital in the West Midlands. West Midlands Police officer Det Con Catherine Corbett was injured near Heathrow Airport, on 2 November. The force said she had been moved from Charing Cross Hospital to a hospital in Coventry but was still "very weak".
Rashpal Singh, 41, of Gladstone Street, West Bromwich, is accused of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Harrow Crown Court on 4 January. The force spokesperson said Det Con Corbett had returned to the West Midlands on Wednesday evening.
The spokesperson added: "She is improving, although still very weak, she is due to commence a long-term plan of rehabilitation."
The 39-year-old, from Solihull, had been with three other officers when they attempted to arrest a man who had been wanted for 12 months. Two of the other officers suffered minor injuries in the incident. Det Con Corbett was awarded a commendation for outstanding work in 1993.
