POLICE: FLORIDA OFFICER NEARLY RUNDOWN AFTER BAR FIGHT
A female sheriff's deputy was nearly hit and seriously injured by a car after a fight at an Orange County bar, police said. Officers said Mathew Hammons, 24, was in a fight with another man at a bar Saturday located near Alafaya and state Road 50.
When deputies arrived, Hammons got into his car and then tried to rundown an officer while fleeing, according to the report. He was captured a few blocks away and arrested for drunken driving and aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer. The deputy suffered minor injuries.
