TENNESSEE OFFICER STRUCK BY CAR DURING FOOT CHASE

A police officer running after someone was hit by a car near Interstate 40 Friday afternoon September 21. It happened just after 5 p.m. in west Nashville.

The officer was chasing someone on Charlotte Pike behind Champion Ford, police said. The man crossed several lanes of traffic on I-40, and when the officer tried following him he was struck. The officer has been taken to the hospital and there's no word on his injuries or condition.
