MASSACHUSETTS OFFICER STRUCK DIRECTING TRAFFIC
A police officer directing traffic downtown Monday suffered cuts to his hand after he was struck by a pickup truck. Richard Berube was taken to Sturdy Memorial Hospital after the 11:20 a.m. accident at the intersection of routes 152 and 123, downtown, police said.
He was expected to be released after treatment. The driver of the pickup truck was not immediately charged but the accident was under investigation by Officer Joseph Rebelo.
