FLORIDA DEPUTIES SHOOT, KILL MOTORIST
Orange County deputies said a traffic stop turned deadly when the driver ran into one of the deputies who in turn opened deadly fire into the suspect's vehicle. The Orange County sheriff's office said they pulled over a man driving on Rio Grande Avenue Thursday night for a routine traffic stop. Deputies said the vehicle came to a stop, but the driver revved the engine and ran into one of the deputies.
That deputy and another fired several shots at the car. The man was found in the nearby woods and died at the hospital. The deputy who was hit by the man's car is doing OK. Investigators haven't released the name of the man, who was the only person in the car.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating.
