DRIVER OF GREYHOUND BUS THAT STRUCK AND KILLED FIREFIGHTER PLEADS NOT GUILTY

The driver of a Greyhound bus that struck and killed a firefighter has pled not guilty to charges related to the case.

Sammie B. Rogers Jr. faces charges of violating Scott's Law and improper lane usage. Scott's Law requires drivers to slow down or pull over to the farthest lane from emergency scenes.

Sesser firefighter James Miller was killed July 27 after the Greyhound Bus driven by Rogers struck him as he and other firefighters were wrapping up fire hoses after a tractor-trailer fire.
