MASSACHUSETTS OFFICER STRUCK BY CAR IN WORCESTER

A Worcester police officer working a paid detail at Washington Square was struck by a car yesterday morning, but the injuries appeared to be minor. Officer Douglas L. Farber was at Washington Square at Foster Street directing in the middle of the intersection when he was struck by a woman’s car about 7:50 a.m.

Kimdee Seale, 21, of Worcester, was identified by police as the driver of a 2006 Toyota sedan that struck the officer. She was headed west on Washington Street and was making a left turn onto Foster Street when Officer Farber was struck on the left leg and waist area. Ms. Seale was cited for failure to use care in turning. The officer was taken to UMass Memorial Medical Center — University Campus, where he was treated and released.
