MAN HITS PENNSYLVANIA OFFICER
Police tasered a driver after he hit a police officer with his car.
Police attempted to pull over Eric J. Kiley, 20, of Exton, on Wednesday just before 1 a.m., on the 200 block of West Uwchlan Avenue in East Caln, Downingtown police said. The suspect then fled from the area while speeding, Police said.
The vehicle entered Ramblewood Mobile Home Park in East Caln the wrong way on a one-way street, police said. While driving the wrong way, Kiley allegedly hit a police officer who had gotten out of his car. Kiley also hit a mobile home, police said.
After hitting the officer and mobile home, police said Kiley put his car in reverse and drove toward another cop. After several tries to stop Kiley, police used a taser gun on him, police said. While removing Kiley from his car, police said they smelled alcohol on him. Kiley was also driving while his license was suspended, police said.
Police charged Kiley with four counts of aggravated assault, two counts of simple assault, four counts of reckless endangerment, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, criminal mischief, underage drinking and traffic violations. Information on the condition of the officer struck was not available.
