TENNESSEE OFFICER HIT BY VEHICLE ARRESTS SUSPECT
A La Vergne man was arrested after he struck a Metro officer with his car during a traffic stop Monday night July 9. Reginald Pryor was charged with aggravated assault, driving with a suspended license, evading arrest, and resisting arrest, after striking a South Precinct Flex officer.
Two officers tried to stop the 28-year-old man on Interstate 24 West and Interstate 440 for traveling 70 mph in a 55 mph zone. He stopped, but drove off striking one officer who was not injured. The officers followed him in their police car on Interstate 440 for several miles before Pryor pulled over and stopped near the West End Avenue exit.
Official stated that Pryor's criminal history includes a drug possession conviction.
