STRUCK NEW YORK OFFICER RETURNS TO WORK
A Troy police officer who was hit by a truck in Lansingburgh Friday night June 29 will return to work Saturday. According to police, Officer Christopher Johnson was crossing at 121st Street and 2nd Avenue after six Friday night when he was hit.
Witnesses told police that the man behind the wheel of the truck was talking on his cell phone when he took a right turn on red and hit the officer. Johnson was treated and released from Samaritan Hospital after suffering a shoulder injury. The driver was ticketed and charged with talking on a cell phone and failing to yield at an intersection.
