TRAFFIC AIDE STRUCK BY CAR OUTSIDE SOX-CUBS GAME

A female traffic aide is in serious to critical condition Sunday June 24 after being struck by a vehicle near U.S. Cellular Field. Police were called to the corner of West 31st and South LaSalle streets about 12:40 p.m. for a female traffic aide hit by a vehicle.

Witnesses described the vehicle as a Chevrolet Silverado SUV. Witnesses told the fire department that the SUV hit the woman and then continued to drive north on LaSalle Street, as far as 18th Street.

The SUV didn't appear to be going to U.S. Cellular Field, Langford said. The woman was taken to the trauma ward of Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Langford said. She is listed in serious to critical condition.
