TEXAS POLICE OFFICER HIT BY CAR - SHOOTS AND KILLS DRIVER
A Corpus Christi police officer arriving home at the end of his shift found himself in a deadly confrontation. Officer Jesse Hernandez, a veteran on the police force, was targeted by a man who tried to run him over. Hernandez then pulled out his gun and opened fire on the driver at least twice, killing the man behind the wheel.
Authorities say that Hernandez shot the suspect, but that it was too early in the investigation to put all the pieces together. The driver's identity is being withheld until his family can be notified of his death. Officer Hernandez is undergoing X-rays and other tests. He is expected to make a full recovery.
