SAN FRANCISCO MOTORCYCLE OFFICER STRUCK BY CAR

The driver of a Nissan sedan made an illegal turn and collided with a special patrol motorcycle officer on Hayes Street Tuesday afternoon May 15. Though the right front end of the Nissan was shattered, the officer whose motorcycle was struck suffered only minor injuries.

Authorities reported that the officer took most of the impact in the testicles.

The officer was speaking to medics and wiggling his toes as he was loaded into an ambulance in a neck brace. Authorities reported that the driver of the Nissan who appeared uninjured, was not drunk, but will likely be cited for making an illegal left turn from Market Street onto Hayes Street, where he collided with the officer. The accident occurred around 2:30 p.m.
