POLICE OFFICER HIT BY CAR IN NORFOLK, VIRGINIA
A Norfolk Police officer was injured while directing traffic Saturday afternoon.
The officer was outside Norfolk Scope around 7:45 p.m. when a car hit him, according to Norfolk Police Officer Chris Amos. He was directing traffic leaving the Franklin Graham Festival.
He suffered minor injuries in the accident and was taken to a local hospital to be treated. He is expected to be fine, Amos said.
The driver of the car was issued a summons for failing to obey an officer’s signal. She was released from police custody, Amos said.
