PENNSYLVANIA DOT WORKER STRUCK BY VEHICLE AND CRITICALLY INJURED
A pedestrian working on a highway resurfacing project in Dushore was critcally injured Friday when she was struck by a vehicle. Gayle Stroble, 40, of Trout Run, Pa., was situated behind a parked construction vehicle and was removing a construction sign from the roadway when she was struck by a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu.
The Chevrolet Malibu, which was operated by 85-year-old Paul Vermac of Forksville, was traveling south on Route 220 at the time of the accident, state police said. Stroble was working as a flagger at the site, which was a state Department of Transportation road resurfacing project between Dushore and the Bradford/Sullivan counties line.
