GAINESVILLE, FLORIDA OFFICER FIGHTS FOR LIFE AFTER CRASH

A Gainesville police officer remains in critical condition at Shands Hospital on Wednesday after being hit by a car. Lt. Corey Dahlem was working after the University of Florida Gators win in the NCAA Championship Game, WESH 2 News reported.

Dahlem was working a roadblock when investigators said Austin John Wright, 22, hit him. Wright was arrested for drunken driving and is expected to appear before a judge on Wednesday. Wright had a blood-alcohol level of more than twice the legal limit, investigators said.
