FLORIDA OFFICER STRUCK BY TRUCK REMAINS CRITICAL

A Gainesville Police lieutenant, struck by a pickup overnight after fans celebrated the University of Florida's basketball championship, remained in critical condition with life-threatening injuries at a local hospital Tuesday afternoon. A pickup driver hit Lt. Corey Dahlem shortly after 2 a.m. as the officer was on W. University Avenue, the Florida Highway Patrol and Gainesville. The street had been closed to traffic following the Gator basketball team's championship win.

Authorities reported that the lieutentat is in incredibly bad shape. Dahlem suffered numerous injuries and underwent multiple surgeries after the crash at Shands at the University of Florida.
