BEAVERTON POLICE OFFICER HIT AND DRAGGED BY SUSPECT

A convicted felon faced charges for identity theft and drugs as well as trying to run down a police officer in Beaverton late Sunday night. Stroschein refused to hand over his license, registration and proof of insurance, after he was asked several times.

That’s when the officer said Stroschein put the vehicle into gear punched the accelerator, clipping the officer.

Investigators said the officer was dragged 125 to 150 feet through a parking lot, then thrown to the ground after the car jumped a curb and hit a wall.

Officers arrested him nearby after he tried to run from the scene.

Stroschein was charged with assault, escape, resisting arrest, interfering with an officer, eluding police, reckless driving, possession of methamphetamine and identity theft. Officers said Stroschein was a convicted felon.
