TEXAS OFFICER'S VEHICLE HIT BY PASSING CAR DURING STOP
A Keller police officer's squad car was severely damaged early Sunday after another car struck it as the officer made a traffic stop. The officer, whose name was not released, had stopped a motorist suspected of drunken driving just inside Watauga city limits when she noticed another car coming toward her cruiser. The officer ran around the squad car and the vehicle struck the back of it, pushing it into the vehicle of the suspect who had been stopped.
The car that caused the collision kept going but stalled several hundred feet away. Police arrested Angela Castro, 33, of Haltom City and charged her with failure to stop and render aid, and failure to move over for an emergency vehicle, police said. An 8-year-old child in Ms. Castro's car was released to a relative. Police said no one was injured in the collision.
