CALIFORNIA MAN GETS 4 YEARS FOR HIT-AND-RUN DEATH OF CHP OFFICER

A man who pleaded guilty in the hit-and-run death of a California Highway Patrol officer received the maximum sentence of four years in prison.

Russell Rodrigues, 47, wept as relatives and friends of Officer Brent Clearman spoke at the hearing Wednesday before Alameda County Superior Court Judge C. Don Clay handed down the sentence.
