CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY PATROL OFFICER INJURED WHILE WRITING UP TICKET

A California Highway Patrol officer is injured after his patrol car was struck by a car in Lakeside. The incident happened on northbound State Route 67 just south of Winter Gardens Road. The officer was standing outside of a vehicle and was writing a ticket when his patrol car was struck by another car.

The officer was not directly hit but did suffer a leg injury in the collision.

A medical team was called to the scene. There is no word on the condition of the other driver.
