ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA OFFICER HURT IN CRASH
A tractor-trailer ran into an unmarked Anaheim police car driven by a plainclothes officer today around noon, sending the officer to the hospital with back injuries and closing an on-ramp to the eastbound Riverside (91) Freeway for more than 1½ hours.
The unidentified police sergeant was stopped at a traffic light in the No. 1 lane of the access road leading to the Lemon Street on-ramp east from Harbor Boulevard and the truck was stopped in the No. 2 lane, Anaheim police Sgt. Rick Martinez said. When the light changed, the truck attempted a left turn, striking the unmarked car and dragging it more than 100 feet onto the on-ramp.
