OFF-DUTY WEST VIRGINIA POLICE OFFICER HIT BY CAR
A car struck a an off-duty Huntington policeman Sunday. The officer was working security for St. Mary's Hospital when he approached a car inside the parking garage. After the officer identified himself, the driver hit the gas and clipped the victim. Police caught up with the fleeing driver on the 31st Street Bridge with the help of the Ohio Highway Patrol and Lawrence County Sheriff Deputies. Huntington police arrested man and a woman inside the vehicle. Their names were not released. During the pursuit, a Huntington police cruiser crashed into a another vehicle. Police said the damage was minor.
