MOTORCYCLE POLICE OFFICER STRUCK IN TACOMA, WASHINGTON

A Tacoma motorcycle police officer was struck by a car at 12th and Pine streets in North Tacoma Monday morning February 12. The officer was headed westbound on 12th Street following a car he was pulling over when another car heading eastbound turned left in front of the officer. The two collided and the officer went down. According to officers at the scene the officer was awake and responding when medics arrived. He was transported to St. Josephs Hospital in Tacoma where he remains in satisfactory condition.
