ILLINOIS OFFICER'S SQUAD CAR HIT DURING TRAFFIC STOP

A Spring Grove police officer was injured early Wednesday after his squad car was hit by an alleged drunken driver. Spring Grove police Officer Jason Hintz was clearing a traffic stop on Wilmot Road north of James Road in Fox Lake about 1:39 a.m. on January 31 when a 1996 Dodge pickup struck his 2006 Ford Crown Victoria squad car, Fox Lake police said.
