ARKANSAS POLICE OFFICER HIT BY CAR

A Monticello Police Officer is in the hospital after being hit by a car at a local night-club. The officer was responding to a fight outside the club, when a car came around the corner striking him and a witness. Monday night, a 26-year-old woman is behind bars charged with the crime.

Officer George Strain wasstanding right in front of a night club on Gaines Street, when a car traveling about forty miles per hour, came around the corner hitting him and a bystander with whom he had been speaking. The driver of the vehicle was arrested and charged with two counts of first degree battery, two counts of leaving the scene of an accident with injuries, and DWI.
