TRUCK HITS WASHINGTON STATE TROOPER'S PATROL CAR

A tractor-trailer rig jackknifed and struck a Washington State Patrol trooper's vehicle near North Bend Tuesday, troopers said. All westbound lanes of Interstate 90 were closed at Milepost 34 after the crash, but one lane was opened by 2 p.m. The crash was part of a chain reaction that started when a trooper and a tow truck were trying to move a car that had spun out on the westbound lanes of I-90. As a tractor-trailer came down the hilly highway, it tried to avoid the vehicles and jackknifed, hitting the trooper’s vehicle.
