MINNESOTA STATE TROOPER AND TWO OTHERS HIT ON ICY ROAD
Just before 1000 hrs.Sunday morning January 21, 29-year-old State Trooper John Ferris of Oakdale was standing on the side of the road talking with two people who had just had a car accident. Another car, travelling North on I-35, slid off the icy road and into Ferris and the two others. The car also slammed into the two cars involved in the first accident, sending them into the ditch.
Ferris suffered a fractured elbow and some bumps and bruises. The second victim was not seriously hurt, and authorities say they do not know the status of the third victim. The accident slowed traffic for about an hour.
