Police cited an 82-year-old Scituate man for failure to use care in stopping and having a defective headlight after he struck a Plymouth County deputy sheriff on Plain Street Sunday afternoon December 24. The deputy sheriff, Christopher Dorn, 30, of Whitman, was on a private detail, directing traffic in and out of Blanchard’s Liquors, when he was struck at about 4:40 p.m.
