IOWA STATE TROOPER HIT IN BLACK HAWK COUNTY

Black Hawk County authorities say roads there were completely covered with ice when an Iowa State Trooper was hit by another car. It happened on Highway 20 east of Highway 63 on Saturday night January 14. Officer Todd Valentine was investigating road conditions when a vehicle driven by Adam Jeffries, 20, slid sideways, into the trooper's car. Officer Valentine was injured and taken Waterloo's Covenant Hospital. Jeffries was charged with failure to maintain control.
