SUV HITS SHREWSBURY, MASSACHUSETTS OFFICER

A police officer assisting a motorist at an accident scene was struck by a Jeep Wrangler Monday evening, police said. Officer Paul Belliveau was attending to a two-vehicle accident in the breakdown lane on Boylston Street near Colonial Drive, just north of the Interstate 290 interchange around 5 p.m. Monday when a Jeep Wrangler hit him and the parked car, which was in the breakdown lane. Officer Belliveau was taken to UMass Memorial Medical Center — University Campus, in Worcester, where he was treated and released.
