OREGON DEPUTY FIRES ON SUSPECT WHO RAMMED HER CAR

A Clackamas County Sheriff's Deputy fired shots at a suspected car thief who rammed her patrol car twice. The incident happened around 1 a.m. Thursday while the deputy was patrolling an apartment complex at Southeast Johnson Road and Lake Road. A suspicious-looking vehicle with front license plates that were different from the back plates caught the deputy's attention. She pulled up behind the vehicle, got out of her car and gave commands and that is when the Jeep nearly struck her before smashing into her car two times. The deputy fired more than one shot at the suspect. The person in the Jeep took off and it is unknown whether they were hit by bullets.
