CAR VEERS OFF ROAD AND STRIKES NORTH CAROLINA TROOPER
A North Carolina driver veered off I-485 near Rocky River Road and collided with a North Carolina State Trooper’s vehicle. Trooper Jason Oxindine was issuing a citation to a driver in a vehicle he had pulled over when the third driver veered off the road and crushed his car between hers and the first vehicle. All three people were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver will probably be charged under North Carolina’s Move Over Law that was started in 2002. That law requires drivers to slow down and move over a lane when approaching an emergency vehicle that has flashing lights activated. Troopers say this gives emergency crews plenty of room to safely clear an accident.
