UTAH OFFICER IS INJURED DURING A TRAFFIC STOP
A Utah police officer suffered a broken shoulder blade during a traffic stop on Monday October 30. Centerville Police Sgt. John Spencer was driving on I-15 when an automobile passed him going approximately 95 mph. The officer managed to stop the vehicle near 1400 North in Centerville. While talking to the driver and passenger, Spencer smelled marijuana, called for backup and then ordered the two Ogden women inside the car to get out. When they refused Spencer reached into the car to try and remove the driver, who hit the gas and the car lurched forward. The driver's door slammed on Spencer's arm as the car took off. Police eventually pulled over the car again near Lagoon. Two bags of marijuana were found inside.
