KENTUCKY OFFICER HIT IN TRAFFIC, THROWN 25 FEET
A Madisonville, Kentucky police officer was seriously injured when he was struck by a car early Wednesday morning, November 15. This happened around 5:30 on East Center Street near the Pennyrile Parkway. The officer, 23-year-old Jason Barnes was directing traffic, due to a semi stalled in the turn lane. Troopers say 24-year-old Jennifer Thomas had a green light, but did not see Barnes - and hit him with her vehicle. Officer Barnes was thrown about 25 feet and taken to Regional Medical Center. He's listed in fair condition in the intensive care unit.
