TEXAS OFFICER HIT BY CAR DURING FUNERAL PROCESSION
A retired Fort Worth police officer was hit by a car as he tried to block an intersection for a funeral procession. The escort officer was leading a funeral procession on motorcycle Saturday morning October 7 near Berry Street and Southeast Loop 820 in Fort Worth when the accident occurred. The escort officer was attempting to get ahead of the procession when a car that was not part of the procession cut in from of him. The escort officer suffered leg injuries and had to be taken by Careflight to a local hospital. His exact condition is unknown but his injuries are not considered life threatening.
