SUSPECT RUNS OVER GEORGIA DEPUTY
A vehicle struck a DeKalb County deputy Wednesday night while he was assisting other authorities with a car accident in Fort Payne. Reserve deputy Bruce Wilson stopped to help direct traffic for some State Troopers working a car accident around 11:30 p.m., on Sylvania Gap Road at the intersection of County Road 27 and County Road 494, when a 1996 Toyota Camry, allegedly struck Wilson from behind and kept driving. The vehicle struck Wilson with enough force to throw him onto the hood of the car and send him rolling into a nearby ditch. State Troopers gave chase and eventually were able to stop the suspect.
