FLORIDA GOOD SAMARITAN CRITICALLY INJURED HELPING MOTORCYCLIST
A Florida Good Samaritan is in critical condition after trying to help out an injured motorcyclist early Wednesday. Roy Reynolds Jr., 51, saw motorcycle rider Carl King, 45, lose control and crash on Lem Turner Road just before 6 a.m. and stopped his car. Reynolds, who used to be a paramedic, rushed to help King. He was kneeling down trying to help the rider when a vehicle struck him.
Both men were taken to Shands-Jacksonville Medical Center. King was treated and released. Reynolds is in critical condition as of Thursday morning.
King said he was on his way to work when he said he hit the brakes hard to avoid a car and was thrown off his motorcycle. King said Reynolds came to his aid, then went to get help and call King's wife but he never came back. Police said that speed was not a factor in the accident and the driver did not see either man in the street because it was still dark outside and they were both wearing dark clothes.
