BALTIMORE POLICE OFFICER STRUCK BY CAR; DRIVER SHOT
Police said an officer fired at a vehicle after being hit by the car in northwest Baltimore. The incident occurred just after 8 p.m. Thursday in the 4000 block of Cottage Avenue. Police said three officers on patrol stopped a car for suspected drug activity. Police said when the officers approached the car, the suspect drove toward them, striking one officer. They said the officer opened fire on the driver, hitting him in the arm and wrist.
The officer and the suspect were taken to the hospital. The officer is expected to be okay.
