NORTH CAROLINA FIREFIGHTER KILLED IN STRUCK-BY INCIDENT

It is with deep regret that we advise you of the line of duty death of Firefighter Russell Allen, Jr. of the Tar Heel Fire Department, in Bladen County, N.C. on Thursday September 21, 2006. According to Bladen County Fire Marshal Mitchell Byrd, Allen was marking hydrants in the Tar Heel Fire District and was standing at a fire department vehicle. The rig was struck by a private vehicle and FF Allen was knocked under the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. Details will be posted-also check North Carolina's www.FireNews.net.
