A police officer exiting his patrol car to question the driver of an allegedly stolen car on the Northwest Side was struck by the car Wednesday night. The car then sped off and crashed into another vehicle, police said. The officer, along with five other people, were taken to area hospitals. The officer got out of his vehicle to question the driver of the car in front of his patrol car at West Diversey Avenue and North Pulaski Road around 11:15 p.m. after finding out the vehicle came up as a stolen.
