2 SUVS CRASH WHILE PASSING ACCIDENT SCENE; FLORIDA TROOPER INJURED
A Florida Highway Patrol trooper suffered minor injuries on Wednesday while investigating a traffic accident in Volusia County. It happened at the interchange between Interstate 4 eastbound and Interstate 95 northbound. Two troopers were parked on the shoulder of I-95 northbound investigating the first accident when a sport utility vehicle came around a curve, hit the first patrol car and pushed it into the second car. Then, another SUV came around the same curve, the driver panicked and lost control. Her vehicle rolled multiple times. Both troopers were taken to Halifax Medical Center. One was treated and released, and the other is listed in serious but stable condition.
The trooper was reported to be in the hospital with injuries which seem to be non-life-threatening.I-4 was closed following the accident. One of the motorists was ejected from his vehicle but was not badly injured.
