TEXAS DEPT. OF CORRECTIONS OFFICER HIT BY BUS

A corrections officer was hit by a bus in downtown Houston Friday, KPRC Local 2 reported. The accident happened outside the Harris County inmate processing center at 1201 Commerce St. near San Jacinto Street at about 6 a.m. The 39-year-old officer was standing near a bus that was leaving to transfer convicted offenders to another location.Officials said the bus hit the officer's gun belt and she was pulled under the wheel of the bus. The officer's leg was broken and she was transported to St. Joseph Hospital for treatment.
