NEWARK, NEW JERSEY POLICE OFFICER INJURED IN STRUCK-BY INCIDENT

Police in Newark are searching for a hit-and-run driver. The suspect stole a car and then rammed it into a police car. It happened Saturday night at Ninth Street and 11th Avenue. The police officer was on duty in the area when the stolen vehicle slammed into him. The officer was taken to University Hospital in Newark with a serious head injury. He's in stable condition.
