CT POLICE OFFICER STRUCK

A Southbury police officer was treated for injuries at Waterbury Hospital after he was struck by a motorcyclist during a Sunday morning traffic stop on Lakeside Road.Donald Nevins, a 12-year veteran of the Southbury was conducting a speed enforcement operation on Lakeside Road, near Fish Rock Road, shortly before 11 a.m.Nevins was struck when he stepped out of his cruiser to signal a motorcycle driver to stop for a violation, however the Motorcyclist accelerated and struck Nevins.
